Some AT43 inspired artwork
« on: Tuesday, 8 July 2014, 11:20:51 »
Hello all.

I thought you might like to see a couple of visuals I've done of "Elysium" caves. Hopefully they'll give some inspiration, or at least mild entertainment!

If you click through you can see them a bit higher-res, but not a lot, as it's only a free account.

Those look quite funky. What did you use to create the images?

All you need to do now is edit this guy into the picture ;)
… I know all this and more …

Ha, I was thinking more along the lines of Karl the Karman engineer, but either way, you guessed my intentions pretty well!

It's done in 3DSmax, with compositing in Photoshop. It's "what I do", albeit my day job involves making significantly less interesting images... We're going through a slow patch at the mo, so spare time has been directed into this.

I picked that guy mainly because it was the first image I got to that wasn’t of the crystal caves :) It’s clear from the images that you seem to know what you’re doing, in any case.

Thanks, but dont tell my bosses, they'll expect the same for their stuff...

I just had an image in my head of some Karmans exploring a cave full of Elysium, but I've not got anywhere near the time these days to model the apes, so photoshop it'll be!

Great work on these! I like the subdued, dark tone and the glow effects are very nicely done. Some Karmans (and/or others?) would look awesome on these.

Two new pieces. Entitled Hide and Seek, the intention was to have a little shadowy dude hiding behind the snow plow, but I dont get the concentration of time I'd need to do what I have in mind justice. Maybe one day he'll be added in. A click should get you them in higher res. I mostly wanted to get my idea for a Soundouk out of my head and down on paper as it were.
