Titan - Griffin or Griffon - Proxy
« on: Saturday, 8 June 2013, 13:41:46 »
Hi Guys

I'm looking to complete my TEMPLARS OF AKKYLANNIE army with a Titan (called a Griffin to confuse everyone!) and wondered if anyone had any proxy suggestions?

Clubmates & friends have pointed me towards the (GW) Island of Blood - High Elf Prince on Griffon, which does look impressive and could be modified ("hacked up" is usually what I do!) to have a commander on it, but I wonder if anyone has any other suggestions?

Thanks, Walts

I'm always wary of using Games Workshop models for any game other than theirs, largely because far too many players will see it and assume it's Warhammer you're playing, and quite a few (far too many?) of them seem to think it's somehow a kind of sacrilege to use them in another game :/

For me I think its a good starting point to add a few easy replacement parts. Anything you add is going to have trouble holding up to the detail of the rackham models IMHO.

$59 smakerooooo's ... OUCH!  I'm looking for a $5/$10 max proxy.

My only problem with the Mage Knight Skyguard Griffon is that it's listed as silly bucks as well  :-:

I'll try my luck on eBay (UK) and see if I get lucky,

Thanks, Walts
